The alloy is 5052-H38

• The H38 is the degree of hardness
• The 5052 is the content of different metals

The aluminum goes through several processes. Among them is a leveling machine that flattens out the aluminum so signs will never "curl" or "warp."
Aluminum comes in different gauges: .040, .063, .080, .100, .125, .040 painted.
